  • The hull build features 3 external layers of uni-directional glass, with a balsa core above the waterline, and 2 layers of interior glass. This particular yacht features a modified transom. The original reverse was changed to an extended overhang aft deck. The deck is a combination of ash and marine mahogany plywood with a surface of dynell set in epoxy for superior strength and durability.

Comments

  • The design office of Burgess, Swayzee and Payne drew the R Class Yacht in the early 1920’s. An R Class built in 1924 was later used as the plug for the creation of a mold which was used to build 4 of these new fibreglass R Class Customs. Two of these were finished for cruising, while this and its sistership, Niad, were outfitted for racing.
  • Diana has been sailed locally in Belleville since launch in 1998 and is rigged for easy doublehanding
