Toronto International Boat Show

The recently concluded Toronto Show, although with a reduced attendance overall from last year, proved to be very successful.  The Sailfest area did have the feel of being busier than average, so maybe there was a higher percentage of sailors attending.

This was the first time on display for Catalina’s new 275 Sport model [that’s the blue hulled boat in the picture].  This is a wonderful boat in that it fills a big void in the boat market.  This one is a sensible, easy to handle yet quick and fun racer with comfortable amenities for cruising.  It builds on Catalina’s success with their Capri series, specifically the hugely popular Capri 22, which is cruised and raced actively all over North America.

We were very proud to have the largest display in Sailfest, featuring all of the new ‘5’ Series boats from Catalina, the 315, 355, 385 and 445, as well as Hull #1 of that new 275 Sport, along the 16.5, Expo 14.2 and Expo 12.5 daysailers.  It didn’t stop there.  We had Holly up from Las Vegas with the Catalina Store, and representation from our Sailing School in the way of Ron Hosking.  And, of course, all of our brokerage listings were on display on the Brokerage board.
