Building on Catalina’s long history with comfortable, easy to handle performance boats like the Capri 22, the 275 Sport is the evolution of the recreational racer.  This multi-award winner boasts all of the elements of sail handling and control that will provide years of fun, while offering sensible accommodations that make weekending a joy.  The serious racers will want to try their hand at One Design Racing, solo or crewed.

The Catalina 275 Sport starts with a generous and comfortable, ergonomically designed cockpit.  The helmsperson will love the balanced and responsive feel from the tiller, as well as the beautifully positioned sail controls.  Mainsheet, backstay adjuster and traveller are centrally located in the cockpit.  The fractional rig, with self-tacking jib led to a cabintop winch, means that almost anyone can handle jib trim.  Choose the optional furling asymmetrical spinnaker to appreciate the fun of going fast, easily.

The fin keel will get you pointing high, while the high ballast ratio [at 40%] will keep the boat upright.  The plumb bow gives that extra waterline for higher top end speeds, and the moderate freeboard will keep everyone drier than expected for a performance boat.

Below, the 275 Sport feels like a perfect weekender.  The large seating area converts easily to a double berth.  A very large quarterberth provides options for the small family.  A nice galley and an enclosed head round out the cruising comforts.

The standard inboard diesel will get you home fast when the wind isn’t cooperating, and the saildrive unit means less maintenance, and reduced drag.
