Lake Ontario Catalina Association – 2015 Spring Social

IT”S TIME TO GET BACK ON THE WATER!

Catalina owners, and soon to be Catalina owners, are invited to the LOCA Spring Drive In-Sail in event, to be held at Swans Marina in Pickering.

Those of you ready and anxious to get started on a new season of cruising are welcome to sail in to Frenchman’s Bay and tie up at Swans Marina.  Boat not launched yet?  No problem.  Drive to the Marina [we’re at 590 Liverpool Road in Pickering] and join the family of Catalina owners for the annual spring event.

LOCA is hosting dinner on Saturday evening, as well as a continental breakfast Sunday morning.

After breakfast, Ron Hosking will be offering the Pleasure Craft Operators Card course from 10:30 to 1:30.  The PCOC is required to operate a vessel in Ontario.  Ron is graciously offering the course at $30 per person, which is half the normal rate.  Contact Ron at rhosking@sympatico.ca to register for the course.

Please visit the LOCA website at https://lakeontariocatalinaassociation.wordpress.com/, for more detail and registration forms.

For those of you who may not have visited Frenchman’s Bay is a few years, we are please to report that the new channel entrance has recently been completed.  The channel has been widened, proper breakwalls have been installed and a recent dredge provided over 10 feet of depth through the channel [there are markers to observe].

Feel free to contact us at Swans or the LOCA team if you have any questions about the event, the channel or the facilities.

We hope to see you at our season launching event!
